The Firm
An extremely successful international law firm, with a fully dedicated office based in Central Bristol only a stone's throw from Temple Meads & on all major bus routes. The role is working as a Paralegal within the Structured Professional Indemnity team.
The Structured Professional Indemnity Team are looking for a Paralegal, working Monday - Friday, Full Time Hours 09.30 - 5.30 pm & receive a salary of £18,000 - £24,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus amazing benefits listed below.

Job Role
  • The day to day duties will include management of a large caseload of professional indemnity claims matters under supervision of the Head of SPI. These cases will mainly be defence instructions both pre-action and in litigation.
  • Adherence to the agreed processes, including diligent and consistent use of MI case management and data capture tools to produce reliable MI
  • Being responsible for all aspects of case handling, including, acknowledgement of instructions, investigation, reporting to clients, drafting letters of response, correspondence to other parties and dealing with various steps involved in a litigated case

Key Skills & Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have previous paralegal experience, experience of running cases on a volume basis & process development in a legal environment
The following qualifications would be required: Law degree or GDL, good knowledge and confident use of MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook. An LPC is also preferable. Experience using task flow, workflow or case management systems is highly advantageous.
A good working knowledge of law firm operations and pressures; understanding the need for efficient, timely, cost-effective support. Confident, with strong written and verbal communication skills. The job does require you to be confident on the phone with a range of people such as insurers, insured, witnesses, experts, counsel and your opponents. Understand the importance of MI for insurer clients and to keep your MI accurate and up to date. You will need to be commercially aware with an understanding of the need for efficient working.
