Job Description

Occupational Therapist required to join the multidisciplinary team at our specialist Autism and Learning Disabilities rehabilitation service in Cheadle where you will help people develop new skills and build a brighter future

You will have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans. You'll be joining a supportive network of healthcare professionals, including a team of Occupational Therapists.

Role - Occupational Therapist

Location - Cheadle, Staffordshire

Salary - £27,322 Plus Benefits

Hours - 37.5, Full-Time

This role involves:

You will work closely with the Occupational therapist team on-site and form part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Facilitate a flexible programme of OT groups and individual interventions as part of our tiered integrated therapeutic group programme.

Good personal organisational skills and accomplishments to lifelong learning.

The role is working between Monday to Friday and you may occasionally be expected to work long days to accommodate evening groups within the service.

Managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience

Completing assessments

Planning sessions

Implementing intervention

Evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans

contribute to team meetings, attend ward rounds, and CPA meetings where you will feedback on service users' progress

Opportunity to supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants and represent OT at hospital-wide meetings.

You will undertake assessments using the Model of Human Occupation (MoHo) framework

Implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid mental health recovery

To be successful in this role:

Current HPC registration and full BOAT membership with evidence of Continuing Professional Development.

Knowledge and use of a range of OT assessments and outcome measures, for example, MOHO will be required.

Some experience of working in a mental health setting is preferred but not essential.

Where you will be working

Location: Cheadle, Staffordshire

Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you'll work alongside colleagues who provide person-centered care for men with a learning disability and/or Autism. Gaining experience across low secure and locked rehabilitation environments to support better health and greater independence.

You'll work in an office, with service user environments ranging from small village cottages, where independent living skills can be developed, to 8 bedded units that facilitate the development of daily living skills.
