Job Description

Due to the 24-hour nature of healthcare, our nurses will benefit from on site management cover in order to support the team on the unit to offer consistently high-quality care at all times.

Reporting to our Deputy Care Centre Director, the Night Co-Ordinator will work to ensure the safe and appropriate management of the site throughout the night-time delivery of care.

In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the hospital at night, providing leadership and support to the unit-based nursing teams, and clinical supervision as and when required. You will ensure that a high standard of patient care is provided and that the site complies with all quality standards and statutory requirements throughout the night shift. You will be supported to achieve this by senior management on call, individual Service Leads and the Senior Management Team.

Your responsibilities will include:

To contribute to the development of the staff team working during the night shift by providing planned and unplanned Clinical Supervision sessions / De-briefs after incidents and ongoing monitoring / support with support from the Service Leads.
Provide clinical leadership, coaching & mentoring for the development of staff
Maintain excellence through clinical practice development & quality improvement
Monitoring and improvement of practice with regards to medicines management at night
Be responsible for a planned programme of support across your area of focus as determined by the annual plan for Quality and Compliance
Attend all training and engage in CPD to further knowledge & promote nursing
To support staff who work as part of the regular night staff team have completed all mandatory and statutory training.
Will be a highly visible role model, leader, and Senior Member of the Team
Experienced in managing staffing allocation safely
Passionate about promoting the highest standards of care
Supports nursing staff in terms of supervision, continuous professional development, and career developmenTo be successful in this role, you will need:

Post registration experience ideally of working in more than one of the clinical areas provided at the hospital
Experience of working as a senior staff nurse or equivalent role
Good working knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act
Ability to be responsive and flexible
