Night Coordinator required to work within Student Accommodation working 22:00hrs - 0700hrs 4 days on 4 days off

The post holder forms part of the Night Team, providing a crucial front line service to students, conference delegates and guests throughout the year. This post holder, as part of the wider team, will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students and visitors across the 5000 bed spaces owned by the University.

Main Duties
Act as the first point of contact for Residents and guests – ensuring that a warm and professional response is provided at all times and that any issues are resolved efficiently or escalated to the appropriate manager.
Act as a first point of contact for emergency situations i.e. accidents and illnesses or welfare issues and ensure relevant procedures are followed and reported correctly.
Welcome new residents and guests to site as and when required and assist with directions, luggage etc.
Undertake regular patrols of assigned areas on either foot, bicycle or in a vehicle to ensure the safety of all residents, visitors and staff on site.
To raise and monitor issues pertaining to these patrols i.e. maintenance issues, Health and Safety issues, noise complaints etc.
Maintain a nightly record of your duties and brief the Night Team Leader of any incidents for managers to be made aware of.
Liaise with Night Team Leader and Night Receptionist regarding relevant issues i.e. maintenance, external contractors on site etc.
Deal with challenging and at times distressing situations calmly and professionally and remain impartial, objective and polite at all times, even in the face of provocation.
Ensuring that the Villages are kept clean and tidy at all times, by undertaking necessary litter picking and dealing with waste disposal concerns when attending/patrolling sites.
Undertaking general site cleaning duties as and when required i.e. stairwell cleans, communal and social areas cleans, launderettes, rubbish/litter removal
Operate a computerised and multi-functional CCTV system in accordance with the Data Protection Act and other relevant legislation.
Attend to any power trips within the residences during the night as per the agreed procedure.
Undertake weekly fire logs, CCTV audits and other audits as requested and in line with relevant legislation.
Ensure full compliance with University and departmental policies and procedures at all times.
To be able to represent the University professionally when dealing with outside agencies such as the emergency services or other Government Agencies.
Attend compulsory training for the role i.e. CCTV, Fire Warden Training, COSSH and Safeguarding.
Be complaint with the requirements of all Health and Safety regulations, assess and report on risks and take appropriate action to avert those risks at all times.
Cover the Reception desk in the absence of the Night Receptionist.
Where necessary assist with room clear outs, check ins etc. in line with relevant departmental procedures.
To ensure that all staff, students and visitors are dealt with in accordance with the requirements of equality, diversity and anti-discrimination legislation.
Participate in PDR's, job chats, team briefings etc. on a regular basis in order to discuss performance, personal development and to ensure site knowledge is up to date.
Actively engage with the Red Carpet ethos, which puts customer excellence at the heart of everything we do. Suggest improvements or amendments to existing duties in order to improve the customer experience.
Perform such other duties and undertake further training as may be required from time to time, as directed by either supervisors or managers

Night Co-Ordinators rotate across the three Villages and therefore, at times, the post holder will be expected to work alone on a specified site. However assistance is available through the pool of Night Co-Ordinators, Team Leaders, Night Manager and Security Services via either radio or telephone and additional on-site support is available when needed.
The post holder will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check before commencing the role.
The post holder must hold a full, clean driving license and must undertake a University driving assessment in order to drive department vehicles.
