We are Gov Facility Service Ltd, a non-profit company owned entirely by the Ministry of Justice, supplying facilities management services to 50 prisons over the South and East of the UK with an employee count of 1400.

We are seeking a Multi Skilled Engineer with Mechanical experience to assume responsibility in the following:

  • Completing plumbing installations, testing, and commissioning in adherence with statutory regulations, industry best practice and Health and Safety procedures
  • To complete, test and commission electrical installations in adherence with statutory regulations, industry best practice and Health and Safety procedures
  • To take accountability for and act as the Gas Safe appointed person if required
  • To fault find and ensure satisfactory fault rectification maintaining site services levels at all times
  • To take accountability for reactive maintenance within the prison estate in line with the sites long term goals and objectives
  • To comply with all Health and Safety policies, procedures and legislation to ensure statutory and mandatory compliance

You must be able to demonstrate the following Qualifications and Experience:

  • 2 years' experience of working in a role as a heating engineer, or a combustion engineer in a multi-skilled role, working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
  • C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
  • CCN1 - Core domestic gas safety and relevant domestic appliance units
  • Electrician qualified to C&G 2367 or 2357 (Electrical Installation) and NVQ level 3 in Electrical Installations or equivalent.
  • Must have a certificate in BS7671 - The Requirements For Electrical Installations, 17th or 18th Edition.
  • Experience of working on commercial or industrial heating and water systems is desirable.
