Motor Catastrophic Personal Injury Claims Handler

THIS IS A TECHNICAL MANAGER ROLE AND NOT ENTRY LEVEL

An exciting opportunity has now arisen with our Client for a Motor Catastrophic Personal Injury Claims Handler to join their Cardiff office.

The Motor Catastrophic Personal Injury Claims Handler will take responsibility for the investigation, negotiation and settlement of large loss claims.

This is a key role and you will be required to work autonomously, engaging directly with prestigious clients. You will proactively manage your own caseload whilst providing technical support and guidance for the Motor Department. We You will be welcomed into a dedicated and specialist Technical Team, reporting to the Operations Manager or Head of Motor.

You will have:
-Excellent working knowledge of serious and catastrophic personal injury claims including amputation, brain injury and spinal injury - This is essential
-Good knowledge of medical disciplines required in investigating personal injury claims at all levels of severity
-Proven technical knowledge of all heads of claim applying to serious and catastrophic injury claims
-Excellent negotiation and liability decision making skills
-Years of experience dealing with Motor claims from the earliest stages of claims reporting - arranging early investigation of accident circumstances to determine liability and in taking witness statements, working with and directing our partners who will assist in the investigation
-Knowledge of current, relevant Case Law
-A determination to effectively manage all claims cost
-A full understanding of all regulatory requirements applicable to the management of motor claims
-Strong customer service and communication skills
-The ability to proactively manage your portfolio of claims using an effective diary system and ensuring accuracy and timeliness of reserving at all times
-A proven ability to manage competing priorities and to deliver to agreed client service levels and/or Court timetables
