MIP Quality Manager
About the role
We're looking for a Major Infrastructure Projects (MIP) Quality Manager to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.
A significant programme of infrastructure investment is required on the Devonport site to meet the needs of the future MOD ship and submarine programmes. A new 'Major Infrastructure Projects' (MIP) Business Unit has been established to focus on the large-scale facility developments needed.
The MIP Quality Manager is accountable to the MIP Director for delivery of the quality management function.
You will be responsible for coordinating delivery of the DRDL Quality Policy and maintaining certification to the standards prescribed by the DRDL Board and lead on development and maintenance of a Management Systems (BMS) that Provides adequate control, measurement, assurance, review and continual improvement of all aspects of MIPs business activities, assuring the business remains compliant with all customer contractual requirements and regulatory standards.
What do I need to do the role?
You will have demonstrable experience in Quality Assurance practice (Nuclear discipline preferred but not essential)
CQI Charted Quality Professional
Significant experience in managing quality in the construction sector
Relevant engineering degree or recognised professional status or significant experience in relevant engineering discipline with NVQ Level 4 in an engineering discipline.
Certified Lead Assessor
Submarine Quality Assurance CourseAs the MIP Quality Manager you will design, the MIP BMS systems and structures and will be appointed as Nuclear Implicated SQEP
What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving (SC) clearance.
