Job Title and Grade: Sister/Charge Nurse - Band 6

Location: Manchester

Pay Rates: Days: £18.77 Saturdays/Nights: £24.05 Sunday/Bank Hols: £29.33

You'll have a minimum of 6 months paid experience at Band 6 level within a Mental Health Hospital within the last 3 years and have an active registration with NMC.

We are supporting a large Mental Health Trust in the Manchester area

They provide mental health and learning disability services to people across 200 distinct locations across five boroughs:

Bury, Oldham and Rochdale - mental health and learning disability services for children and adults
Tameside and Glossop - children and adult mental health and learning disability services, health improvement.
Stockport - mental health and learning disability services for children and adultsAreas of work available:

Working age adult wards
Older mental Health wards
Forensics/ Secure units
A&E Liaison
CAMH wards and Secure units
Psychiatric Intensive Care UnitThe Role

To carry out the role successfully, we are looking for candidates that can undertake the following:

The provision of effective clinical leadership to and management of ward staff.
To maintain personal contact with patients, their relatives and carers. Being sensitive to their needs for respect, privacy and dignity and to act as a senior point of contact on the ward.
To assist in the formulation of staff rotas to ensure the most effective use of manpower and resources in relation to service user need and ward activity.
To assist in the monitoring of all staff sickness, in accordance with Trust policies.
To ensure that all staff follow the guidelines identified in the Trust and National policies.
To participate in the investigation of patient complaints, as per Trust Complaints procedure, aiming to settle complaints with local resolutions at ward level. When unable to do so, to communicate without delay to the Ward Manager.
To assist in ensuring that all clinical equipment is correctly maintained and that all appropriate staff are competent in its correct application.
