Clyde

The Mechanical Engineer Specialist is based within our HMNB Clyde business area.

As the Ministry of Defence's commercial partner at HMNB Clyde, Babcock provides specialist engineering support services, including the management of infrastructure and nuclear facilities. We also deliver operational maintenance, upgrades and repairs to support Royal Navy vessels, including the Vanguard and Astute-Class nuclear submarines.

The role

The difference our new Mechanical Engineer Specialist will make

As a Mechanical Engineer Specialist, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary carrying out fault diagnosis, repair, installation, removal and maintenance of all class of military vessels, working across Mast, Periscope, Radio and Radar systems

Day to day, you'll conduct planned maintenance, class modifications, alterations and additions on the mast, periscope, radio and radar systems as well as submarine escape equipment on board Royal Navy and entitled vessels.
