As Digital Capability Manager - MI & Reporting, you will be part of a friendly team who is passionate about delivering great things. Your expertise in developing accurate and efficient reporting and being able to present information in a clear and engaging way will enable DWP Digital to be able to fully understand its people and help ensure we are focusing on the right things for our colleagues.

Our Digital Capability team is core to building and retaining talent to ensure DWP Digital has an effective and motivated workforce. We enable our digital teams to build capability by learning, hiring and working together.
We need better reporting, insight and data to make sure we invest our time and energy in the right things. Your work will help us make good decisions, with tangible impacts on our digital talent and DWP's ability to deliver for our users.
You will create and manage Digital's Strategic Capability reporting suite. This includes understanding the Management Information (MI) requirements and designing reports that deliver to this. You will understand which are the best measures and metrics - including SLAs and KPIs - to use, to understand performance and impact, and how to bring together the right information to illustrate them, including sourcing new datasets. You will analyse the data, review the findings and present them clearly, including to senior stakeholders.
An important part of your role will be to prepare reports for colleagues and our Executive Team, for areas including skills, apprenticeships, and diversity. You will also be responsible for producing ad-hoc reports when required and look at ways to continuously improve the reports, including the way the data is collated, stored and managed.
What skills and experience do we need you to show us?
Substantial experience of defining the data needs of a team/organisation by working closely with stakeholders to identify requirements and creating the corresponding reporting suite - including sourcing, creating and bringing together large complex sets of data.
Extensive experience of using a range of tools, systems, databases and spreadsheets - with exceptional skills in using Excel. Able to analyse, organise and manipulate datasets, whilst maintaining the highest standards of data integrity, reliability and validity.
Effective communication of information - experienced in data visualisation and being able produce reports and dashboards in a clear, engaging and relevant way for different audiences.
Excellent planning and organisation skills, with brilliant attention to detail and able to deliver all work to deadlines.
Understanding of the importance of confidentiality, handling data securely and being able to apply appropriate governance and policies eg. GDPR.
Fantastic relationship and teamwork skills - able to work positively with others.
