Our client is recruiting for a motivated Management Accountant to lead a small specialist team, responsible for the record-to-report financial process and monthly financial reports.

What will you be doing?
The Management Accountant is an interesting and varied role leading a specialist team regarding the record-to-report financial process but with the opportunity to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders on projects, process improvement, and ad-hoc accounting queries.
Key accountabilities include:
Leading month end financial reporting, including development of the management accounts reporting, developing the financial controls and ensuring it is delivered on time and to quality.
Coaching, development and performance management of the team.
Assisting the development of systems, policies and procedures to ensure the efficient and effective management of the company’s finance, including assessing and implementing required changes
Providing pragmatic accounting support to other divisions in relation to new product offerings, propositions, VFM and strategic initiative along with resolving ad-hoc accounting queries
Developing and managing key relationships with internal and external customers.
Ensuring clear communication with relevant senior management in order to determine customers’ requirements and priorities.

Strong accountancy experience with a professional accounting qualification.
Good experience and technical working knowledge relevant to month end financial reporting.
Proven record of leading a team.
Excellent IT skills including strong excel.
Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
Ability to manage workloads, ensuring accurate and timely production of information under minimum supervision.
Ability to be methodical & accurate with an eye for detail
Ability to work in a team environment.
Experience of working in the social housing sector.
Experience of automating processes and building workflows.
Regulatory reporting experience.

This is a full time (35 hours per week) role. Due to Covid-19 this role is likely to be undertaken remotely so could be based around Yorkshire but contractually based at their Leeds Head Office.
