Job Title: Management Accountant, Catering Division

Atalian Servest have a unique opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our Group finance team based at our newly refurbished offices on the western fringes of Bury St Edmunds. Reporting in to the Catering Finance Manager, you will provide timely and accurate outputs of operational performance.
We are keen to hear from pro-active Management Accountants with good attention to detail, and who can build strong and effective relationships between operational units and the finance team. The role will see the post-holder involved in supporting units with compliance to financial functions by ensuring knowledge and training is provided where required. Due to the geographical location of the units, there will be a requirement to undertake site visits a few times each month, which will include some travel to the North of the country. You will also be engaged with the preparation of accruals and provisions on contracts, as well as the review of division results highlighting any underperforming areas, and seeking to advise operators of potential improvements that can be made to improve performance.
Given the nature of the role, we are looking for analytical, process-driven and engaging, problem solvers; individuals who are pro-active and provide a high quality of service.
Suitable candidates will be deadline orientated and able to demonstrate previous experience working collaboratively. You will be highly organised and highly competent at managing stakeholders.

Does any of the below sum up your experience?
-Month end reporting of contracts
-Assisting other members of the business partnering team to month end result production
-Processing of accruals and prepayments as informed by operational teams in line with financial process and principals
-Regular meetings with key operational units either via phone or online
-Site visits for sites that need training and assistance
-Analysis of contract results giving clear and concise information on business performance
-Building relationships with the operational team and supporting them in understanding contract performance
-Reconciliation of accounts
-Assist financial accounting team with reconciliation production and analysis when required to do so
-Support sales ledger by ensuring accurate contract invoicing information is produced in a timely manner
-Producing annual budgets and assisting with contract forecasting throughout the financial year.
-Additional ad hoc and project work, as directed by the business
Do your skills add up to our expectations?
-Previous exposure to management accounts
-Experience gained within catering, hospitality or facilities management environment would be extremely beneficial
-AAT qualified, and ideally ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW part-qualified, or with ambition to undertake one of these qualifications
-Understanding of catering operations to help improve data processing
-Excellent attention to detail to ensure results are reliable and accurate, alongside a passion for identifying and resolving problems and embedding solutions
-Ability to manage own workload, with first-rate time management skills to ensure tight month end deadlines are accomplished
-Committed to continuous personal improvement and professional development
-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
-Can demonstrate strong personal integrity, confidence and discretion
-Customer-focused and pro-active
-Ability to excel in a fast-paced, continuously evolving role
-An open and honest approach, strong relationship builder with outstanding communication skills
-Willingness and ability to travel.
Hours and environment
Our working week is 9am to 5.30pm Monday - Friday, however we support an agile and flexible working approach and seek to quantify achievement and output. There is an expectation to undertake site visits approximately 2 - 3 times per month, which could include travel to Scotland and other northern regions. It goes without saying that flexibility on the individuals' part to meet the needs of our business will be required and is essential and especially true around month end.
