An interesting and unique opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Technician to work with an important and well established manufacturing company who are respected globally for being at the forefront of their field.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager you role will be to provide maintenance cover for all current manufacturing processes as well as the land and buildings.
*To conduct planned preventative maintenance activities including the scheduling and up keep of the system.
*To provide mechanical breakdown for all activities carried out on the site.
*To provide electrical breakdown cover for all activities carried out on the site.
*To work within pressurised time constraints during breakdown situations
*To carry out building and site maintenance for the site including both mechanical and electrical activities.
*Participate in improvement of planned maintenance systems.
*To provide input into the specification of new manufacturing equipment to ensure that it is of robust design and will not pose any problems with regard to servicing and maintenance.
*To carry out installation of production equipment including electrical and pneumatic services as required.
*To support, and participate in, continuous improvement activities as required within all areas of the business.
*To provide guidance on installation and service (power, air etc.) requirements for all production and non-production equipment as necessary.
*To provide support and supervision, as necessary, for contractors working on business premises.
*To order and specify maintenance consumables and spare parts.
*To work as part of a team but have the initiative to work alone to solve problems.
Requirements of the position
*Achievement of Department KPI's.
*Knowledge of company objectives, department goals and KPI's.
*Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and work as part of a team.
*Awareness and Adherence of Health and Safety Policies.
*Knowledge of lean initiatives and participation in work groups.
*Positive Approach to change/flexibility, including 3 shift, 4 shift and weekend cover for production support.
*Maintaining a Relationship with internal/external customers, suppliers and contractors.
*Is resilient, optimistic and open to change
*Maintaining Good Housekeeping standards (5S).
*ONC level or equivalent qualifications in either mechanical or electrical engineering discipline.
*Relevant electrical qualifications including 17th Edition.
*Mechanical/Multi Skilling Maintenance Experience/Qualifications.
*Experience within a volume manufacturing environment.
*Experience within an automated manufacturing environment.
*Computer literacy, word, excel, outlook etc.
*Good interpersonal skills.
*Good time management /planning skills.
*Good problem analysis and problem-solving skills.
*Good knowledge of fault finding and diagnosis on hydraulic systems.
*Good knowledge of fault finding and diagnosis on pneumatic systems.
*Good knowledge of fault finding and diagnosis on electrical and electronic systems.
The following would be advantageous:
*Good Understanding and Knowledge of PLC
*Boom/scissor lift licence.
*Basic MMA/MIG Welding and Fabrication Skills.
*Basic Machining Skills Manual Lathe/Milling machine.
