An interesting position has become available for a Maintenance Manager to work with an important company who are global leaders in their field based in the Birtley area.
The main aims of the maintenance manager are ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and conform to company standards. To adhere and achieve plant KPI's in terms of up time improvements and process improvements and to better them.
This role requires a strong manager to help in promoting behavioural improvements both in the maintenance department and in all areas of the company in what is a 24/7 environment in terms of safety and performance.
*To comply and promote company with health and safety policy and methodology in place and expand use of IMS system and company behavioural tools.
*Supervise and control maintenance labour and development of people and conformance
*Continuously develop planned maintenance practices
*Effectively delegate any maintenance issues to be resolved on each shift and small projects to the right skills in the team, planning and managing effective works.
*Develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, plan in missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively.
*Ensure routine calibration and maintenance requirements of a variety of electro-mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems are undertaken.
*Assist where required, the introduction of new machinery, plant and equipment from drawing up the specification, to managing suppliers through to full installation in collaboration with all relevant parties.
*Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems.
*Push ahead with reliability and process improvements
*Work to reducing costs at all times
*Meeting strict and improving on KPI's /targets set.
*A Proven knowledge lean manufacturing methodologies including TPM, RCM.
*Experience in managing /supervising and motivating a team and lead change methodologies.
*Suitable proven experience of working in maintenance team with strong mechanical/hydraulic background with Electrical/PLC knowledge in industrial applications and ability to lead from front with team.
*Press Background advantageous.
*Self motivated with ability to bring others along with them
*Team player who can work effectively with all levels organisation
*Qualifications in Engineering/Maintenance discipline.
*Experience and qualifications/training in EHS area's
*Good IT skills
