My client, a market leader in their field of manufacturing, is looking for a fully experienced time served Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established company due to expanding workload.
With a bias towards Electrical Maintenance, you will need to be fully conversant with up to date legislation. Working as part of a team of Maintenance Engineers, you will provide both Electrical and Mechanical support to ensure the smooth and effective running of the plant and equipment.
Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Engineer
o Ensure that plant breakdowns are rectified as swiftly as possible to reduce downtime
o Identify root cause of the breakdown / failure and instigate a corrective action to prevent re-occurrence.
o Maintain and develop planned and preventative maintenance techniques
o Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Maintenance Manager & Supervisor, Team Leader and Engineers within the Department.
o To achieve departmental performance KPI's, through anticipating and prioritising scheduled work.
o Ensure all work is recorded on the departments Maintenance Management System
o Ensure and implement safe working conditions and practices in the Maintenance Department and factory areas, ensuring that you are aware of the Company Health and Safety Policy
o To comply with the "Electricity at Work Regulations 1989", the "Health and Safety at Work Act 1974" and all company SHE policies.
o Ensure all work is carried out to approved standards and participate in standard of installation audits.
o To monitor supplies of material and spare parts and raise purchase orders for replacements or replenishments
o To liaise with all equipment and spares suppliers as and when required to ensure that engineering objectives are achieved.
o To take responsibility to ensure own personal development including awareness of changes in relevant legislation, working practices and skills/competence levels.
o To accept ownership of the departmental appearance with specific respect to maintaining a safe working environment through good housekeeping principles.
o Actively participate in all relevant company continuous improvement activities including; 5S, Root cause analysis, 5Y, etc.
To be considered for the role you must have
o Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Maintenance Engineer (with electrical bias) within a Manufacturing company
o A City and Guilds Level 2 in Electrical Engineering
o Have experience of planned/preventative maintenance techniques with safe systems of work
Monday - Friday 06.00-14.00 / 14.00-22.00 rotating shifts with an occasional night shift
