Job Description

My client currently have a vacancy for an Engineer, based at Wigston, Leicester. Working as part of the Engineering Team, the successful candidate must possess the necessary skills and experience to fulfill the following duties:

Job purpose:
Carry out planned routine and reactive maintenance repair work on all plant and equipment at the site. Complete written reports on maintenance work carried out and identify future work. Plan and implement improvement ideas to increase the throughput and efficiency of the operating plants. To ensure the best possible resolve is achieved to those issues experienced, in order to meet the reliability requirements of the site's production schedules. To be part of a team providing essential maintenance operations, whilst maintaining Health & Safety standards, abiding to GMP and food handling hygiene standards in order to provide maximum manufacturing efficiency at the Leicester site.

Key Accountabilities:
Day to day engineering duties to support the production team ensuring adherence to relevant legislative regulations and company policies, procedures and guidelines.
Exercise accountability and responsibility through a duty of care for those activities undertaken
Conduct effective Planned Preventive Maintenance tasks and generate satisfactory reports
Liaise with duty Production FLM throughout the duty shift to agree the priorities
Ensure the maintenance of a Safe and Healthy working environment for all staff
Ensure self and team work to current Good Manufacturing Practices at all times
To develop themselves to a professional standard , and achieve a sound technical understanding of the site process

Essential Job Related Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:
Multi-skilled engineering background
Basic Food Hygiene
Knowledge of process equipment & plant
Able to self manage and prioritise own work load to satisfy commitments and meet agreed deadlines
Must be flexible with hours when required to meet the needs of the business
Have reasonable fitness
Proven engineering experience & aptitude
Self motivated

Hours of Work
40 hours average per week. Rotating 3 shift pattern
