Job Description

Shifts: 4 days on 4 off (6 am to 6 pm)
Type of role permanent
Salary: £32000 raising to £35700 after probation period

We are looking to recruit a multi skilled maintenance engineer for FMCG client based in Winsford.

You will be required to carry out breakdown and repair maintenance on plant equipment, carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) in line with pre-determined schedules and assist with training operators and craftsmen (where necessary). You may also undertake more complex and detailed project work when machine rebuilds or refurbishments are required

Respond to machine breakdowns with a view to minimizing downtime and improving machine availability and reliability.
Documenting activities and spares requirements used onto the work request system. You'll action any repairs and ensure that all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised and you will be involved in electrical and mechanical proactive and re-active maintenance.
To actively support a culture of Continuous Improvement, looking at ways to engineer our persistent problems.
To support Reactive maintenance and PPM activities within the business
Ensure a full breakdown repair service is provided to cover manufacturing plant and equipment

Qualifications / Experience Required:
Electrical Maintenance experience
maintenance experience in Production or FMCG is desirable
Mechanical / electrical maintenance experience.
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well at all levels.
Experience in Reactive Maintenance
You'll need to be qualified to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent, ONC mechanical/electrical engineering, BTEC level 3 in mechanical & electrical/electronic engineering) with a proven track record in an engineering and fault finding role gained from a FMCG environment (ideally the food industry). You'll also have a good understanding of HACCP principles and ideally IEE qualification up to 17th edition writing regulations would be advantageous.
