Our client, a market leader in their field of manufacturing, is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join their team. With an attractive salary of £32,878 and an excellent benefits package.
This permanent role offers variety with no two days being the same. The successful candidate will be required to provide effective breakdown, repair and electrical maintenance, with key responsibilities being to reduce downtime, improve plant performance and reliability by identifying and implementing solutions.
Your duties will include:
" Troubleshooting related to plant breakdown
" Minimise equipment downtime
" To diagnose and remedy equipment/plant faults
" Ensure that all parts required are booked out correctly and recorded as necessary
" Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks
" Work closely with the mechanical engineering team
" To comply with company practices and procedures
" To work under own initiative with minimal supervision
" To ensure H&S & Environmental procedures are maintained at all times
" To carry out all necessary IT based & manual recording tasks relevant to the operation
" To be trained on the operation side to aid with continuous production when required
To be considered for the role you must have the following knowledge and experience.
o Apprentice trained BTEC qualified in an electrical engineering discipline and/or relevant time serviced experience, training or certification
o At least 3 years experience within a medium to heavy manufacturing environment
o Can demonstrate a good hands-on knowledge of electrical and PLC control systems
o Experience with working with 3-phase motor and variable speed drive systems.
o Portable Appliance Testing 2377-22 advantageous.
o Mechanical experience would be advantageous.
o Experience in the use of overhead cranes and slinging techniques, but not essential.
Ability to work under pressure
o Experience in the use of Fork Lift Trucks, but not essential.
o Excellent fault finding and problem solving skills.
o Ability to understand and produce engineering drawings.
o Knowledge of health and safety standards and the ability to carry out on the job risk assessments.
o Good organisational and decision-making skills.
o Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
o Self-motivated, Pro-active and reliable.
o Willing to undertake training
o IT Literate (Able to input work and times into a front line maintenance system).
o Good verbal, listening & written communication skills.
o Able to work alone or as part of a team
The Maintenance Electrician will be working Monday - Friday on rotational days 06.00 - 14.00/14.00 - 22.00. Flexibility will be required to be part of the call out rota to cover breakdowns out of hours and provide holidays and sickness covered.
