This is your opportunity to join a household name in the utilities sector.
We are looking for a commercially minded, data-curious, Logistics Analyst to provide high level insight through progressive data analysis and interpretation of logistics company data and external data.
You will also help to develop projects, based on this insight and provide support on larger scale projects.
Their Logistics Management Centre (LMC) is a growing department that is made of Inventory, Facilities, Fleet, Tankering, Light Works and Commercial teams. LMC is currently responsible for managing over £100 million spend per annum and is going through an exciting and challenging period with a number of strategic projects running at the same time to improve both cost and operational efficiency.

This is a high profile role, and your expert analysis will be utilised by key stakeholders and business leaders to shape future commercial decisions making the business more efficient and resilient.
What will this role involve?
You will be working as part of the Commercial Team at LMC alongside senior analysts and your key responsibilities will include:
Capturing and understanding requirements for new reports and data-sets.
Interpreting and challenging ad-hoc requests in order to help customers articulate their requirements.
Write reports underpinned by clean, logical and efficient SQL & Report Builder.
Demonstrate understanding of such reports by providing complimentary commentary and insight.
Extract relevant data from internal/external systems and present back in a clean/consistent format.
Maintain existing reports following update requests and bug fixing.
Challenge the internal use of data and current solutions. Present viable options for ways in which it can drive improvement.
What skills are we looking for?
Power BI/Report builder experience.
SQL - written queries from scratch for report development.
Intermediate knowledge of Access (Queries & Maintenance).
Intermediate knowledge of Excel (Pivot tables).
Knowledge of Ortec software would be advantageous.
GIS capabilities would also be preferable but not essential.
Confident communicator (Written and Verbal).
Experience of producing Management Information.
Confident in challenging senior stakeholders on their requirements if required.
Ability to present detailed information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong Analytical / Numerical skills.
Location and Salary details
This role will be based at our Head office in central Reading, Berkshire. We are offering a salary of £38,000 to £43,000 per annum depending on experience.
