Parts of this role are physically demanding and applicants will be required to lift and move heavy loads.
The shift is Monday to Friday, 14.00-22.00. Flexibility is required to work the occasional Saturday. This is an on-going contract with the strong possibility of the position becoming permanent. It is essential that the same people see the contract through so please only apply if you are available Monday to Friday for a minimum of six months and are able to commit to a position of 40 hours per week.
The job role is carried out in a controlled food environment and it is a legal requirement that you wear the provided mob cap, beard snood (if applicable), white overcoat and shoe protectors and sanitize your hands frequently. You will need to pass a basic food handling test before starting work and watch the company Health and Safety DVDs.
As Line Operative your duties will include:
Working in a busy logistics warehouse and strictly conforming food production environment
Working on the line, ensuring each box/kit has the correct food products added, i.e. tortilla wraps, salsa sauces, sachets of spices
Keeping the hoppers along the line filled with the product to be put in each kit
Adhering to the Food Safety policies and maintaining high levels of Health and Safety
Supporting the Kit Line Team Leader
Achieving the targets and job standards as set out by the Kit Line Team Leader
Performing any reasonable request from the Contract Manager
The ideal candidate will hold the following skills and attributes:
Level 2 in Food Hygiene (preferred but not essential)
Food production background in a warehouse environment
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
Ability to work under pressure and to work as part of a team
Good attention to detail
Being adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
The site is located on the outskirts of Milton Keynes, near to Junction 13 of the M1. Please note that the site is not easily accessible by public transport. There is a train which goes to Ridgmont, a five minute walk from the site, but the times of travel are restricted. There are no buses running to the site. The site provides free parking for cars and bikes. Own transport is advisable.
