Pertemps are currently recruiting for Licensing Assistants to work at our public sector client, based within Edinburgh's city centre. The role is to start as soon possible and will be a temporary ongoing (indefinitely) position. This role is for 36 hours a week with a hourly pay rate of £11.44.

The successful candidate will be required to assist in the delivery of high quality, customer focused outcomes; this will be achieved by facilitating an accurate, timely and efficient administrative and business service.

Main duties include:
  • processing all license applications
  • assessing statutory requirements and customer feedback
  • handling confidential information with appropriate sensitivity
  • seeking advice or escalating more complex licensing issues as appropriate
  • attending meetings and preparing actions, notes/minutes and follow-on actions
  • maintaining and updating database management systems on behalf of the Licensing team as required

Requirements for this role:
  • exceptional organisational skills
  • being able to manage a large workload
  • excellent communication and IT skills
  • must be willing to work towards licensing Paralegal qualification (equivalent to SVQ 4)
  • ability to understand and apply their knowledge of licensing legislation and be able to demonstrate the ability to understand the implications of licensing decisions
  • must be able to develop an awareness of appropriate licensing policies and procedures and understand the operational implications of policy and procedure changes
  • ability to work under pressure, responding positively in difficult or urgent situations
