One of our fantastic partnership SEN schools in Sunderland are currently undergoing an exciting period of expansion, meaning that they are seeking several flexible and hardworking Level 2/3 Teaching Assistants to work with them on a long-term basis from September 2019. The successful candidates will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as they will be expected to liaise effectively between pupils, colleagues, families and external agencies, and they will need to have a patient and nurturing personality.
This is a forward-thinking and extremely well-resourced school who pride themselves on the high quality education and support that they are able to provide for both children and adults with Autism. The school has a positive, supportive and welcoming atmosphere, making this an excellent opportunity for the successful Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant to gain new skills and experience to enhance their CV.
Successful candidates MUST:
*Hold their Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
*Have recent and relevant experience in a similar role, preferably working with children with Autism though this is not essential
*Posses the key skills needed to be able to effectively support individuals with Autism, such as resilience, confidence, patience and a nurturing personality
*Be able to effectively assist learning on a 1:1, small group or whole class basis depending on what is required
*Possess an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to obtain one
*Have a full understanding of the safeguarding responsibilities of a Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant
