Learning Support Assistant  - Pupil Referral Unit

Do you have experience working with challenging behaviour? Have you provided 1-2-1 support within a classroom setting? We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to work closely with students who are no longer in mainstream education.

As a Learning Support Assistant you will be providing the class teacher with support, working closely with the SENCO and building relationships with students. The school is known for its excellent approach to challenging behaviour, and has been able to build a platform for its students to succeed.


Job Role:
  • Providing 1-2-1 classroom based support
  • Tailoring support to meet students’ needs
  • Working with the class teacher to make lessons engaging for the child
  • Making learning fun!
Ideally, you will:
  • Have experience working as a Learning Support Assistant
  • Be able to work with challenging behaviour on 1-2-1 basis
  • Have recent experience working with Special Educational Needs
  • Be resilient, confident and empathetic towards students’ need
