We're looking for someone to join our Capability Team and support our amazing Engineering community of practice with Learning and Development, capability building, and lots more.
Our Engineering Practice is large and complex. We cover several job families, bringing together engineering roles such as Site Reliability, Infrastructure, Software, DevOps, Test/QA and Front End Developers. Our community is responsible for the building digital services, applications and systems that will transform how DWP work and how people interact with us.

You will be primarily responsible for arranging learning and development (L&D) opportunities for members of our Engineering practice. You'll track and monitor all spend on L&D against budget too.
The L&D requirements for the engineering community are often bespoke opportunities which cannot be obtained from existing Departmental learning frameworks, so you'll have the skills to research and source available opportunities from external providers.
You'll also have chance to get involved in practice support activities. You'll work with our senior leaders -our Engineering Head of Practice and different Heads of Role to help them deliver their plan to increase technical expertise, professional capability and the engagement of their communities.
You will need to quickly develop and maintain strong relationships and networks primarily with these leaders and across the wider Practice community, and also with other partners such as other practice learning leads, external providers and the Digital L&D team.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
Experience of working with others to identify learning requirements, research solutions and support the implementation of a range of capability improvement programs. (Lead Criteria)
Ability to communicate in a straightforward, honest and encouraging manner, choosing the right style for different stakeholders
Experience of supporting the planning and delivery of events including identifying risks, dependencies and producing engaging communications.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint and MS Teams.
Good interpersonal skills, with an ability to build and improve professional relationships with key stakeholders.
