What's on Offer?
Rate of Pay:
£26,000 - £30,000 per annum (dependant on eperience)
Contract Type:
Permanent Contract - immediate start
Shifts:
45 hours per week
This role will also require weekend cover, as well as working every 2nd Sunday on a rotational basis, which is currently payable at a rate of double-time.

About You
We are currently looking for an experienced and proactive Lead Driver & Trainer to join our well-established team based in Bothwell, Glasgow. In this newly created role, you will assist the Transport & Operations Manager with all training requirements for both new and existing Drivers in areas such as delivery protocols, health & safety, compliance and customer service. Our distribution team play a crucial part in daily operations, and your role will play a crucial part in the required training of our Drivers, as well as assisting with the provision of a smooth and efficient delivery service to our loyal customers.
You will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment. You will be a natural team player and possess a true commitment to customer service, with a keen desire to deliver and maintain our high standards at all times.
Typical Duties / Tasks

Driver training
*
Assist with the coordination, planning and implementation of new training programmes
*
Deliver products in a timely and efficient manner to our customers throughout Scotland
*
Deal with handball and pallet deliveries upon arrival at customer site, ensuring that no damages occur whilst in transit, or at point of delivery
*
Collection of payments from customers, ensuring that receipts are completed accurately, as well as safe storage of all collections
*
Liaise with both the Transport & Operations Manager and Warehouse Manager regarding ad-hoc sales / collections
*
Provision of a high standard of customer service at all times
*
Deal with vehicle repairs / vehicle defects
*
Assist with administrative tasks as required
*
Promote and maintain a safe working environment
*
Adherence to Transport Legislation, inclusive of Tachograph Rules & Regulations
*
Contribute to the development and implementation of operational improvements
*
Ensure adherence to relevant Health & Safety requirements contained within Risk Assessments and our standard operating procedures.
What You’ll Need
*
Transport Manager CPC (desirable, but not essential)
*
Full Class 2 Licence
*
Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
*
At least 5 Years’ experience driving a Class 2 vehicle, multi-drop delivery preferred
*
At least 1 Years’ experience delivering driver training
*
HACCP, Food Safety, Health & Safety and Allergen awareness
*
Geographical knowledge of Scotland is an advantage
*
Proactive approach to promoting and maintaining safe ways of working
*
Ability to adapt to changing demands and adaptable workload
*
Accuracy and attention to detail.
