You and your role

Portfolio Management is key in DWP Digital. Our people manage a uniquely large and complex portfolio of IT projects, ensuring that decisions surrounding the timing, structure and prioritisation are correctly planned and managed.

As Lead Digital Portfolio Manager you'll be an experienced delivery professional with senior engagement and relationship management skills who can take the reins of a complex diverse, impactful portfolio of IT projects and ultimately deliver our digital strategy.

This role will build the portfolio and also develop the function of Shared Channels, one of our most high priority and high profile areas of work.

This is not an IT project delivery role but a strategic lead role. It will suit you if you have a deep and wide knowledge of delivering transformative IT which adds value and meets user/business expectations at scale. You'll also see the bigger picture and how aspects of our delivery connect across our organisation and across government.

What skills & experience do you need?

Proven experience of leading large scale digital portfolios, covering multiple projects or programmes across a broad digital delivery portfolio within a complex organisation.
Proven experience of a lead project delivery role covering the full project lifecycle using Agile delivery methods within a Digital organisation.
Experience of identifying and responding to complex issues using appropriate methods to unblock and resolve.
Ability to analyse and interpret multiple data sets to create board level reports and positively influence board level stakeholders, demonstrating highly developed interpersonal and strong communications and presentation skills to tell a compelling story.
Experience of delivering products in multi-team, multi-supplier environments including the ability to work across organisational boundaries and build alliances across the wider organisation.Qualifications/professional memberships

The candidate must have one of the following:

ITIL v3 Foundation
Management of Portfolios (Foundation & Practitioner)
Portfolio Management Institute
Management of Portfolios (Foundation & Practitioner)
