We are looking for a Lead Data Architect who can assure Data integrity and Data security, always ensuring that the data assets are supported by a resistant and secure data architecture that aids government departments and external partners in achieving strategic goals.

You will be defining and advising on the architecture approach for departmental projects and programmes working towards the desired architectural model.

Providing the leadership for strategic initiatives will be key, including the development of plans for data warehouse, data quality, data integration and business intelligence projects and programmes.

You will thrive on the opportunity in influencing the wider technology stakeholders with regard to the development of data strategies, by creating and maintaining a process for managing data architecture across the organization, in particular addressing information feeds to enterprise applications and systems.

You will be expected to constantly build strong links across other government departments to influence best practices and share insights.

What skills and experience are we looking for?

The ideal candidate for this role will be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria

Good working knowledge of databases and the difference between different technologies.
Experience of delivering data governance principles and policies.
Experience and a proven track record in leading multiple data architecture projects.
Expert understanding and experience of leading under multiple methodologies (e.g. agile, waterfall, fail fast).
Experience of leading data architecture teams in line with corporate strategies using internal and external resources.

You'll join our team with a base office at our digital hub in Sheffield. Located just off the ring road and only a short walk from the train station.
