Are you a creative TA that has experience within the KS1 and KS2 setting? Do you have experience supporting children on a 1:1 basis or within small groups to help them achieve their targets? Do you have a great knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum?

Our clients are located throughout the Blackpool Fylde Coast area and are looking for a driven and dedicated professional to come join their team of skilled staff members to work within a variety of classrooms within the school. The role requires you to be active and readily available to work from 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday to Friday which would include also helping out with non classroom duties such as lunch support. You would be expected to work within the expectations and standards of the class teachers, in order to provide support to certain children who require it. The schools we work with all have a diverse approach to learning so it is important that you liaise with staff and teachers, in order to find out what the schools ethos and values are in order to uphold them during your time there.

The ideal candidate would be someone who brings a calming presence, effective at communicating instructions as you will be working with children who may have SEN or challenging behavioural needs or even when speaking to teachers. Other ideal traits include being punctual, motivated and an ability to portray active listening skills.

The role would include attending meetings, motivating and encouraging students, recording and supporting the development of children and reporting this to the class teacher. The roles would require. You may also be required to look after children who are upset or unwell over the coming WInter periods. This will require you to take initiative and help in supporting the children or staff without guidance so a level of responsibility will be given and expected of you to take action accordingly.

The duties and responsibilities of this role will be as follows:

Reading, writing and SPAG support.
Adjusting or breaking down activities to support participation and understanding.
Develop a supportive relationship with the child that promotes self esteem and confidence.
To develop knowledge and understanding of the specific academic, physical, emotional and behavioural needs of the child and respond to them effectively.
To liaise with the Teacher and SENCO about the development and support needed at home and in school for the child.
Monitor and maintain records of the pupils progress.
To assist with general school duties which may include setting up classrooms, preparing resources and displays and tidying and clearing away
Supervision of children during lunch times and Supervision of children entering and leaving school premises. Essential Requirements:

Knowledge of development matters
Must be an outgoing individual with an ability to engage with pupils to have FUN while learning
Must be able to work collaboratively and competently within a team
Must be able to engage learners through play
Must have childcare Level 2 or above.
An understanding of SEN or learning needs.
Knowledge of the new KS1 and KS2 curriculum.
