My client is a leading Utilities connection company with the head office based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire, several London branches, a Warrington branch and various depot's nationwide. They currently have 235 staff and a turnover of £34m. We are currently looking for a Craft Attendant to join support an experienced New Connections Craftsman. This role will involve travel to various client sites, so require flexibility and a full UK driving licence are required. We aim for most of your work to be within 1 to 2 hours of your home address, but there will be occasions where you will be required to work further away and stay overnight.
About the role:
The main purpose of the Craft Attendant's role is to undertake tasks as instructed by the New Connections Craftsman associated with the construction and installation of Contestable Connections up to and including 33kV.
*Ensure before commencing work you are in receipt of all relevant paperwork required and that you understand the task/s that you have been instructed to undertake;
*Carry out on site Risk Assessments before commencing works;
*Promote and demonstrate a culture of Health Safety & Quality at all times;
*Ensure all works are carried out to company / DNO specifications;
*Ensure the appropriate usage of Tools, Equipment & Plant;
*Make the project supervisor / project manager aware of any project variations;
*Report all accidents and incidents;
*Complete all site records and paperwork as required;
*Ensure any personnel under your supervision have the relevant experience, knowledge & training to carry out tasks;
*When carrying out works within the public highway ensure works signed and barriered in accordance with Chapter 8 NRSWA;
*Ensure all reinstatement is carried out to HAUC specification.
Qualifications / Experience
*Recognised training and authorisations to work as a Jointer's Mate for new connections to DNO/iDNO networks
*EUSR or ECS card
*Full UK driving licence
*First aid certification (desirable)
*NRSWA Operator certification (desirable)
*Competitive hourly rate (dependent on experience)
