Job Description

The Company:

This is an in house role, providing 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support to all employees and occasionally to external customers to help them resolve any software and hardware problems with communications technology and ensure that an effective solution is provided. You will work alongside the IT Manager and use your existing IT Support experience, whilst developing new hands on skills.

Job Responsibilities:

Respond to enquiries from staff to help them resolve any hardware or software problems.

Thorough research and in-depth troubleshooting to determine the most effective manner to resolve technical issues.

Provide support for all Information Technology products and services by answering questions, troubleshooting problems and communicating policy.

Maintain a log of any software or hardware problems detected to facilitate the resolution of common queries.

Support users in the use of computer equipment by teaching, instructing or providing any necessary training and advice to staff regarding software or hardware functionality.

Recommend suitable software and hardware systems where these might improve performance.

Work on Service Desk related projects as assigned by supervisor.

Preferred Skills:

Ideally, you will have delivered hands on IT and Communications support within a busy manufacturing, distribution or office environment.

Experience of resolving computer software and hardware problems

Good knowledge of PCs and fault finding

Personal Attributes:

This is a people centric role, you must have excellent written

and verbal communication skills

Picks up on technical things quickly; can learn new skills and knowledge; is good at learning new industry, company, product, or technical knowledge.

Wide knowledge of Office software applications

Working Hours:

The company work a 40 hour week and this is a full time, permanent job opportunity.

The hours may vary, but this will predominantly be a 9-5 Monday to Friday position.
