Senior Interaction Designer
We're looking for Interaction Designers and Senior Interaction Designers with a high level of experience helping teams design and deliver services that are simpler, faster and easier to use.
You'll be working alongside other user centred design professionals who are committed to deliver the best possible outcomes for all of our users and ensuring everything we design is accessible to everyone.

use data from research and analytics to understand user's needs and test designs to meet them.
design collaboratively and in the open, engaging your team in the design process.
create prototypes to test ideas and learn from.
design with consideration for accessibility and inclusion.
share knowledge across teams, making sure that your designs are reusable and consistent with the (url removed) Design System.
contribute to the Interaction Design community in both DWP and across government.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
demonstrate best practice in user centred design, for digital and non-digital interactions.
work effectively across multiple teams, adapting quickly to change.
champion accessibility and inclusion, considering the impact of new technologies.
collaborate with designers in other teams, give constructive feedback on other people's work and help lead the development of design patterns.
use research and analytics to understand user needs and identify opportunities.
create prototypes using appropriate tools and methodologies, advising others on prototyping best practice.
lead and coordinate design work, supporting other designers where necessary.
actively support the design community in DWP and across government.

In return for your skills, we offer a competitive pay of between £38,469 - £60,781 and a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 27%.
Salary for this role at Senior Executive Officer grade is from £38,469 (Band min) to £41,480 (Band max).
Salary for this role at Grade 7 is from £50,155 (Band min) to £60,781 (Band max).
