Job Description

I am looking for a Housing Manager £25,801 to join a Housing Charity based in central Bristol to start immediately!

This post will work across services to oversee the effective management of the housing provided as part of our accommodation based support services:

Providing accommodation and housing related support to women with complex needs living in our high and medium level shared and self-contained supported accommodation. Providing accommodation for victims fleeing domestic abuse in our safe-houses and complex needs safe-house in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

Some of your duties will include:

Housing Management
  • To oversee the housing team
  • Residents are signed up using the agreed occupancy agreement, understand their rights & obligations and all benefits claims are complete and made in a timely manner
  • Inducted into the accommodation, ensuring they understand the health & safety and fire requirements
  • Settled into their accommodation
  • Visit the properties, interact and engage with residents with the aim of involving them in maintaining and improving the accommodation standards
Record keeping and monitoring
  • Maintain up to date, accurate, legible records and monitoring data relating to housing management. Prepare any additional information or housing management reports as required
Developing self and others
  • Provide line-management to the team of housing assistants, meeting regularly for the purpose of work planning and task allocation, support, supervision and appraisal
  • Develop individual performance and training plans with staff you manage in order to enhance performance of the individual and team
Type of Candidate
  • Knowledge of housing legislation and housing management procedures
  • Understanding of basic building construction and maintenance
  • At least 3 years' experience of working in homelessness / supported housing sector
Salary and Benefits
  • The post is full time 37.5 hours a week and we can offer a salary of £25,801
