Health & Social Care/Childcare Lecturer
College: John Ruskin College (Selsdon, Croydon)
Pay rate: £29.77/hour (£24.97/hour + £4.80/hour as payment for annual leave)
Hours: 9 hours (Thursdays 13:30-16:30, Fridays 09:30-16:30)
We are currently seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Health & Social Care/Childcare Lecturer to deliver teaching and learning across both our BTEC Health & Social Care and Early Years provision to our Levels 2 students.
Working closely with the Vice Principal, Head of Department and the rest of the team, you will have the chance to share your knowledge and skills with students to help them achieve at the highest level as well as driving continuous improvement within the College. You will act as a personal tutor, promote attendance, support students to attain suitable work placements, participate in team meetings and contribute to the planning, development and review activities within your subject area.
Please note: Following current Government COVID-19 guidance the majority of our staff are working remotely and not on the College campus. It is therefore highly desirable that candidates have experience of working from home and using remote learning platforms to deliver online learning to students (e.g. Microsoft Teams or Zoom) in order to successfully carry out their role. Alternatively it is essential that they can demonstrate the capability to adapt to this and pick up the required Technological knowledge very quickly.
The successful candidate must have:
* A teaching qualification (ideally at Level 5)
* A Health & Social Care or Childcare qualification (preferably at Degree Level)
* Experience working within the Health & Social Care/Childcare industry, i.e as a social worker, childcare worker
* Previous experience teaching at BTEC Level 2-3
* Experience of preparing young people for university UCAS
* Experience and knowledge of BTEC Health & Social Care or Childcare qualifications
