My client is a prestigious private school located just outside Birmingham City Centre.
An opportunity has arisen for a talented Head Chef to join a team and assist the Catering Manager with the busy catering operation. You will be responsible for providing approximately 1200 children healthy and delicious meals using locally sourced, fresh ingredients.
As Head Chef you will be a motivated individual who can plan, organise the busy kitchen and your team. There is a busy hospitality offering aswell as regular functions, requirements for packed lunches and council dinners. You will also encourage pupil engagement and build a strong and successful relationship with the Catering Manager and the client.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of high volume catering within a busy environment. You will have an impressive cheffing background aswell as effective management skills. You will be up to date with current food trends and be able to produce food to a very high standard.
Previous experience of high volume catering and NVQ level 3 in food preparation or equivalent is essential to this role. As is supervisory experience.
This is a Monday to Friday position, term time only - £15,000 - £17,000 per annum depending on experience.
You will be required to provide catering for weekend and evening school activities, this may also include school holidays.
You will be required to work 2 days either side of the school holidays, excluding inset days.
