Role Overview:

Recruiting a Head Chef / Kitchen Manager for an independent gastro pub company with 5 locations within the Surrey / Berkshire area. Each pub has its own character and charm and all are well known in their areas amongst foodies for their high standard of food using fresh & seasonal ingredients with modern menus, this site has its own Pizza oven which operates in the summer alongside the main A La Carte menu as well as Part, weekend brunch and Sunday lunch menus.

As the Head Chef / Kitchen Manager you will be responsible for the overall running of the kitchen including stock ordering, rotas and managing your staff. Menus are done by the Executive Chef of the Company.

On a busy day the restaurant will see around 200+ covers, 100+ for service on a busy Friday night so a head chef who is very hands on, passionate in regards to consistency of quality and enjoys a high volume fast paced environment would be an ideal candidate for the role..

As a Head Chef you will work 5 out of 7 days per week.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

*Ensuring consistent and smooth running of the food service

*Understand effective stock purchasing, its receipt and safe storage

*Ensuring that working areas are always kept clean and assist the team as the need arises

*Perform other administrative tasks as will be communicated by our head chef

*Work towards exceeding customer's expectation by encouraging and promoting high level of service

*Ensuring all dishes are prepared according to specification and served at the correct quality, portion size, and temperature

Candidate Requirements:

  • NVQ or City & Guilds Chef qualifications are required
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
