The role

As the Group Project Controls Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll be part of the team responsible for leading the Project Controls function to drive performance improvement and support the implementation of the Group functional strategy; to establish a functional home responsible for the development, professionalisation and growth of Project Controls across the breadth of the organisation.

Day to day, you'll establish a strong project controls community with a positive culture. You'll work on the development of core project controls competencies across the function. You'll develop and implement a focused, standardised, and robust approach in all areas of project controls. You'll support the integration of a new set of enterprise level planning / scheduling, risk and project performance related toolsets as well as developing and implementing effective performance forecasting/reporting measures, for all areas of project controls.
Responsible for establishing/maintaining or adhering to the specific PC governance, processes, and procedures across the project/programme/portfolio
Provide visible leadership, direction and guidance in relation to Project Controls, for the business and the functional community, creating and gain buy in to a compelling vision and the successful adoption of new solutions
Working with the Project Controls Discipline Lead to champion best practice across the wider business, instilling standardisation and common use of frameworks
Working with the Sector Lead to strategically generate a pipeline of suitably qualified and experienced project controls professionals

Experience of the Group Project Controls Manager
You'll need to have proven delivery experience in a similar role with the gravitas to lead from the front
Experience of project controls techniques and approaches, including Agile, planning and scheduling, estimating, risk management, change management, cost forecasting, EVM and quantitative risk analysis etc
Comprehensive experience of delivering/leading project controls within the delivery of large and complex projects and programmes within an EPC environment
Experience of using/implementing related software tools such as P6, Active Risk Manager, RiskHive, Safran or Primavera Risk Analyser
Experienced in establishing and developing Project Controls as a discipline, or a PMO, within a large project, programme or organisation
Strong working knowledge of Planning and Scheduling

You will work a 37.5 working hour week, have a hybrid/agile approach to work and due to the nature of the role, will require travel to sites throughout the year so a willingness to travel is required.

The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
