The Group Head of Risk & Insurance role is based within our Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) business unit.
Babcock Corporate Services (BCS) is a global function, with our largest site being Lakeside in Portsmouth, but we operate from multiple sites around the world.
BCS supplies and operates all IT, security, procurement, and finance Shared Services. We are embedded alongside the operations that we serve, enabling us to maintain close working relationships that support delivery to our customers. We drive standardisation, simplification and automation across Babcock, to help generate sustainable value for the group and our external customers.
The difference our new Group Head of Risk & Insurance will make:
As a Group Head of Risk & Insurance, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary, through assisting the Group Director of Internal Audit, Risk Assurance & Insurance in the maintenance and development, of best practice risk management procedures throughout the organisation; ensuring that enterprise-wide management and modelling of risk is consistent and accurate.
Day to day, you'll be partnering with management to provide continual risk assessment and in the development of comprehensive policies, procedures, compliance training, protocols, internal investigations, plans and the implementation of risk management strategies and processes.

This role requires travel to Wigmore Street, London on a regular basis alongside home working arrangements and travel to various sites across Babcock Hubs.
Demonstratable experience in enterprise and operational risk management and Insurance.
Knowledge of project management and project control processes.
Ideally, ACII/Degree in Risk Management, Business or finance or equivalent or recognised professional qualification.
Defence sector experience is desirable but, not essential.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
