Are you a leading Procurement Manager looking for an opportunity to make a procurement function your own, the opportunity to define and deliver the strategy in circumstances where you can really make a difference? This is a great opportunity to do just that! The business is a genuine leader is it's market producing fantastic, high quality consumer goods over three UK sites and one EU site. The business employs over 1300 people and produces brands that are recognised as house hold and highly sought after.
As Group Procurement Manager we will be entering into a newly created position for the business. The fundamental purpose of the role is to improve, rationalise, consolidate and get best value through group based procurement moving the business away from individual site lead procurement. It's a great chance to start at the beginning, identifying and analysing the current spend and supply chain and the setting a strategy for supplier engagement to get best value for the business while maintaining the very high material standards. Your plan will include a clear sourcing strategy for new product development along side a long term plan highlighting projects to include clear time scales and cost saving targets.
General expectations in the role will include:
• Working closely with strategic suppliers, negotiating group buying contracts for all key purchasing areas.
• Communicate and work closely with dotted line management to group buying teams across the company sites.
• Working closely with Design teams to develop a cost effective approach to new product development and introduction.
• Monthly reporting to the company board across spend, risks and achievement against plan/strategy.
The companies products are described as hand crafted and are manufactured with minimal machinery. Very high quality fabrics and materials are sourced globally and any experience of sourcing fabrics, leather or similar would be of great interest. The business has recently implemented ERP (Microsoft Dynamics AX) and so experience of this or a similar system would also be a great advantage. The position of Group Procurement Manager would suite applicants working at a group level currently and would also suite highly experienced and capable site based Procurement Managers looking to take the next step in your career.
Due to the nature of the role regular travel across the group and the supply chain will be required.
All applicants with relevant experience will be considered however a relevant degree and formal training ideally to MCIPS would be preferred.
