Job Description

As Global Communications Officer your role is critical in supporting the growth of the business globally.  You will do this by working with the broad range of media channels available to raise the profile of ALE, fully leveraging the incredibly diverse range of work that we are involved in and the locations where we work.

You will have no shortage of good content – your challenge will be to capture and adapt what can be highly technical work to ensure it best communicates the unique benefits ALE brings to its clients.

Your copywriting skills will be tested on a daily basis; your ability to adapt content quickly to successfully meet the demands of owned, earned and paid media will be essential. You will also line manage the Group PR Assistant to achieve this.

This role will require you to influence people in our businesses around the world – there will be the opportunity to travel globally.

Main responsibilities
  • Lead role in producing effective multimedia content aligned with marketing strategy, that has a measurable impact across all channels
  • Manage and maintain a content schedule to achieve the above, including PR material, case studies, white papers and video
  • Line management of Group PR Assistant
  • Develop a strong network both internally with ALE colleagues and externally with key media contacts to ensure the strongest content possible
  • Creating and selling in media stories to increase ALE’s visibility in its target markets
  • Monitoring of content performance across all channels, including trade media, social media and digital
  • Creating copy for PR material, digital channels, internal and external newsletters, award entries,  event presentations and marketing materials
  • Organising press events and supporting new product launches
  • Responsibility for crisis management communications plan design and execution.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL

  • Degree level qualification in English, marketing or science discipline

DESIRABLE

  • CIPR or CIM qualified

KNOWLEDGE

DESIRABLE

  • Awareness of construction, engineering and lifting/transport terminology

EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

  • Demonstrable experience of producing high quality content across traditional and digital channels
  • Media management
  • Monitoring of content impact through tools such as Meltwater, SEMRush, Google Analytics or similar
  • Minimum 3 years experience in comparable role

DESIRABLE

  • Prior line management experience
  • A background working within technical B2B marketing 
  • Knowledge of the abnormal load engineering industry
  • Media network within relevant sector, eg heavy lifting, oil and gas and/or renewables industries
