The primary purpose of this role is to manage the preparation of UK Government bids and proposals to maximise order intake for UK Business Management, with accountability for delivering proposals with individual values of up to £30M.
Key Responsibility Areas
*Ensuring the timely preparation and delivery of winning UK Bids & Proposals in accordance with the Joint Modification Process Manual and/or the Business Acquisition Process (BAP), as applicable.
*Establishing, managing and leading the bid/proposal team.
*Preparing and executing the bid/proposal programme.
*Preparing and managing the bid budget.
*Ensuring adequate level of resources for bid preparation.
*Co-ordinating and allocating key roles and responsibilities.
*Liaising with Company sites and functional departments.
*Liaising with external resources (including Suppliers and Authority Representatives) specific to the task.
*Lead and manage Approval Reviews (Peer, Independent and relevant BAP Gate Reviews) to ensure the overall competency of the bid and its timely submission.
*Preparing Senior Management briefing and approval papers.
*Regular interface with the Customer to define and agree bid/proposal requirements and ensure development of the Bid/Proposal meets the Customer's expectation.
*Maintaining comprehensive reporting on bids and proposals to support UK Order Intake forecasting and Capacity Planning.
Assisting the Bids & Proposals Manager to identify and manage:
*Priorities and any conflicts.
*Ensuring that both the UK Business Management and the Customer's requirements are met.
*Supporting the Bids & Proposals Manager in establishing, maintaining and developing policies and procedures relating to bids and proposals.
*Undertaking additional duties as assigned by the Bids and Proposals Manager and which are consistent with the nature of this role.
*Deputise for the Bids and Proposals Manager as required in support of Management Acquisition Reviews.
*Support Commercial negotiations to ensure efficient route to contract.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
*Educated to degree level, possibly in Business Management and/or possess some experience in relevant discipline.
*Excellent team working skills and the ability to lead, interface with and manage virtual teams.
*Possess effective project management skills.
*Pro-active and self-motivated with an ability to work using own initiative to achieve demanding deadlines.
*Detail conscious and commercially aware.
*Good interpersonal and communication skills.
