Job Description

To coordinate with the service manager activity in the yard controlling all scheduled and emergency work, to ensure they are operating in an efficient manner, maintaining stock levels including ancillaries.


*To carry out work in accordance with the appropriate QHSE system requirements
*Ensure all emergency / planned orders are prioritised and completed in agreed timescales
*Fulfilling customer orders as prioritised.
*Preparing stock available for hire.
*Ensure all assets leaving for sites are inspected and in good working condition, within service parameters and well presented.
*Work with transport department to manage loading of all delivery vehicles to guarantee efficient delivery within customer service level agreements
*Coordinate and communicate work activity for engineers to meet business needs
*Make sure all engineers comply with yard systems of work
*Ensure all paperwork and business system input is completed in a timely manner.
*To highlight potential improvements in yard methods of working.
*Organize staff shift rotations and workloads and holiday cover.
*Keep yard clean and tidy and in line with health & safety requirements
*Implement and maintain good housekeeping practices and make sure yard and all workshop areas are kept clean and tidy.
*Highlight and report any deficiencies within the department and put forward reasonable recommendations.
*Continually appraise daily work in progress and update Service Manager on all issues which may impact on job completion.
*Ensure all accidents and near misses within the department are reported in logbook and to the Service Manager.


*The person in this role will maintain a positive attitude that promotes team
*Previous experience in a service environment working on various generator equipment
*Time Served from a Nationally recognised apprenticeship in Electrical or Mechanical discipline
*Ability to demonstrate electrical or mechanical aptitude with proven track record of application of electrical or mechanical principles
*Good organisational skills
*Excellent attention to detail
*Able to work in an environment that will be pressurised at times
*Good communicator both orally and in writing
*Competent in Microsoft Office, e-mail and internet
*Ability to drive counter balance Fork lift truck.
*Ability to multi-task.
*Clean / full driving licence.
*Good problem solving skills
*Methodical and flexible approach
*Ability to use own initiative
