As a General Manager your role will be to provide a safe, efficient and robust working business premises with sufficient staff and resources that enables SHB to complete and develop its daily business operations. For clarity, this encompasses people, infrastructure (both fixed and mobile) and compliance to process
*Manage all the workshop process and ensure that sufficient planning and preparation take place to meet our customers' requirements across Hire, Used vehicle sales and fleet man-agement services.
*Support and manage sales site with day to day operations and ensure processes are adhered to for a smooth running
*Manage the allocated fleet, ensuring minimum downtime and vehicle VOR. Assist in identification of fleet disposals and manage local disposal processes.
*Assist in creating and managing the Depot business action plan, including expansion of opening hours.
*Manage quality in all areas of operations to ensure our customers receive the best possible standard of vehicles and plan.
*Lead a diverse, multi-skilled depot team and ensure both sites remain fully staffed and motivated.
*Ensure all staff understand and comply with all company policies.
*Conduct all necessary disciplinary investigations and follow up actions in a timely manner.
*Timely submission of payroll to meet business needs.
*Ensure all obligations under our National Operating Licence are complied with.
*Ensure premises are opened in good time to comply with normal business operations. Closed and secured at the end of each working day.
*Adherence to all company QSE policies.
*Support with the rental manager to ensure smooth running of hire vehicles process.
*Full UK driving license
*Experience within commercial vehicle industry
*Demonstrable evidence of managing a similar fast paced commercial vehicle workshop environment with Fleet Management and retail customers.
*Knowledge of commercial vehicle sales
*Ability to lead, manage and motivate a multi-disciplined, diverse workforce.
*Business standard IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
*Excellent communication and customer care skills.
*A good standard of both written and spoken English.
*A tenacious, enthusiastic, and flexible disposition.
*Good self-starter with the ability to multi-task.
*Ability to work well under pressure.
*Be a well organised individual with excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
*Experience of managing a CV dealership would of particular interest.
