The General Engineering Trainer role is based within our Defence Training business area.
The difference our new General Engineering Trainer will make
As a General Engineering Trainer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You'll deliver the training course modules and supervise practical training of Hand Skills and the associated workshop technology required for trainees.
Day to day, you'll prepare relevant training material, if necessary, involve Media and Graphics Department input to provide relevant Workshop Training and maintain personal CPD portfolio in respect of new technologies and equipment ensuring that lesson plans and training sessions are developed in accordance with the approved Course Training Plans (CTP).
You'll supervise trainees and visitors to ensure full compliance with relevant H&SE & PPE requirements required by Babcock, the Authority and as relevant to the equipment training department. Ensuring risks are adequately assessed and minimised and that the correct equipment is used for each task.
You'll be responsible for student development through monitoring, feedback appraisal, discipline and training interventions. Ensuring all supporting documentation is maintained and that any special student developmental needs or training delays are flagged to the Department Training Manager. You'll also be responsible for the delivery of remedial training and revision as necessary.

Minimum Level 3 qualification
Hands on engineering experience
You must hold or have the ability to obtain SC security clearance
