General Engineering Trainer
About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a General Engineering Trainer to be responsible for delivering classroom and practical training to classes of up to 16 students. This training will cover practical hand skills which will involve but are not limited to: Precision measurement and cutting, filing, drilling along with tap and die and assembly of test pieces.
The main responsibilities include preparing relevant training material with the assistance of the media department, as well as assessing Students. You will be responsible for the creation of written examination and progress test papers, and of practical assessment/examination scenarios and continuous assessments, including marking examination papers, setting and marking of course/home work, and invigilation of examination and assessments.
This is an interesting position with a great work/life balance, and exciting opportunity to pass on your knowledge to the next generation of Engineers.
What do I need to do the role?
You must hold minimum CGLI City & Guilds part 3 or above, NVQ Level 3 ideally in a mechanical engineering discipline.
You will come from a background in an engineering role and understand hand skills, cutting, filing, drilling etc. and can demonstrate these skills.
You will also have a strong desire to teach.
Fitting and Turning experience is highly desirable.
