Job Description

Our client in Bedford requires an accredited Forklift Truck Driver with a Counterbalance Licence for their busy warehouse operation. A full UK driving licence is required as the operation is split across industrial units and it is necessary to drive the FLT on the road to go between them.

The shift is Monday to Friday 8am-4pm with occasional obligatory overtime required, including the odd Saturday or Sunday. Overtime is called at second break.

The pay rate is £8.69 per hour. 37.5 hours plus overtime worked is paid per week. Calculated as 40 hours per week with two paid 15 minute breaks and one unpaid 30 minute lunch break.

Your FLT Licence MUST be ITSSAR or RTITB accredited, have been taken/refreshed within the last three years and you must be prepared to get your FLT licence refreshed every three years after the date you achieved it. You must have a minimum of 6 months recent experience driving a Counterbalance FLT. A practical and theory FLT driving test will be conducted on-site before you can operate the FLT.

As an FLT Driver for this warehouse your duties will include:

FLT Counterbalance driving
Working in a busy warehouse and logistics environment
Loading and unloading goods, manually and using the FLT
Replenishing products
Manual handling (as dictated by the warehouse requirements)
Keeping stock stacked in a safe and organised manner
Driving the FLT on the road between the warehouses
Completing paperwork and checking stock delivered
Maintaining high levels of Health and Safety
Achieving the targets and job standards set out by the Shift Manager
Being adaptable and flexible in your approach to work
Accuracy and attention to detail
Performing any reasonable request by the Shift Manager
