Our client are a successful family owned business with just over 50 employees. They are recruiting a new food production supervisor to join their team based just outside Edinburgh. This business produce high quality savoury foods whilst looking after the environment. ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a real leadership role, supporting a team of 12 operators to make great food safely. You will liaise between the operators and the management team. The successful candidate will spend about 85% of their time on the factory floor. You will ensure the team are fully aware of their tasks and support them to achieve their goals. The food production supervisor is responsible for the quality of the products that your team produce. You will be expected to take the initiative to recognise opportunities to improve things for the team and the company. You are expected to lead with integrity and be comfortable being amongst and talking to the team.
Our client are looking for someone with a food production or catering background. You should be highly organised and an excellent communicator. Also, you should be highly motivated and passionate about producing high quality food for customers. HACCP accreditation would be highly advantageous as would any prior experience with health and safety in a food production/catering environment. Prior experience managing quality would also be helpful.
This role would be an ideal fit for an ex military, JNCO chef. The hiring manager has previously worked with ex-military, including those transitioning out of the Armed Forces.
