The role

The difference our new Fluid Power & Control Engineer will make

As a Fluid Power & Control Engineer, you'll be responsible for the hydraulic and pneumatic elements of complex systems as well as the delivery of Weapon Launch Products for multiple projects.

Day to day, you'll take ownership of and/or support the design, installation, maintenance and verification of Fluid Power systems for current and future projects as an individual or in a small team, support delivery of Weapon Launch Products to all projects through disposition of Non-Conformance Reports, defining and actioning Change Requests and supporting Factory Acceptance Testing, manage progression of the design, identifying and agreeing deliverables for each design phase, and presenting and justifying the design to engineering assurance stakeholders at key design gates, act as a system integrator, collaborating with suppliers to maximise successful integration of commercial and military equipment into the wider system and delivering through cooperation with other business functions and undertake mechanical design, developing an optimal solution to meet the requirements while balancing quality, cost and schedule considerations.

Essential experience
Proficient with 2D and 3D CAD software; calculations and analysis experience is advantageous.
Manufacturing and assembly understanding, including machining processes and welding techniques.
Competent to perform and report root cause analysis and fault finding.
Comprehensive working knowledge of the Microsoft suite of tools including SharePoint, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Excel.
