Telent Fleet Manager - Interim, Flexible location (6 Months Contract)
In these extraordinary times of the coronavirus outbreak Telent is continuing to Recruit. We provide services to customers which are integral to providing mission critical systems and infrastructure across the UK and Ireland and we need to continue to deliver those services.
To help limit the amount of face to face contact during the recruitment process, we will now do more online assessments and use Skype/Conf Calls for interviews wherever possible.
With current annual revenues in excess of £400M and 2,400 employees. We operate within various industry sectors including Rail, Traffic, Public Safety, Defence, Service Providers, Enterprise and Public Sector.
Act as main relationship holder with leasing provider and work with them on various day to day operational activities.
Expert in end to end management of Operators Licence.
Working with stakeholders to source alternative short-term hire vehicle suppliers (where lease provider cannot supply or otherwise compete) ensuring service levels to the business remain satisfactory in respect of accident management, vehicle servicing etc, which often have to be managed in-house.
Act as main relationship holder with fuel supplier/s.
Liaison with mileage capture company.
Manage fleet administration.
Liaison with tracker provider as required regarding service and reporting issues.
The upkeep of records and systems for operation of FORS for TFL.
Operation and maintenance of the Motor Insurance database.
To manage, plan and instigate, in liaison with leasing company, the 48 month rotation of the vehicles ensuring vehicles are returned on time in optimum condition to reduce costs in line with agreed objectives.
To liaise with leasing and associated service companies on all vehicle related topics.
To establish a good working relationship with all service providers, suppliers, vehicle manufacturers and internal business units.
To improve driver behaviour and safety through contact with drivers and managers.
To manage the fleet budget so as to actively drive down costs and maintain the lowest/optimum cost base to meet business requirements.
To ensure all fleet internal records, accreditations and websites are kept up-to-date.
To actively seek opportunities to improve customer delivery and fleet efficiency.
To strive to improve and simplify fleet administration and processes in conjunction with other departments/business leads.
To keep up-to-date with vehicle legislation via lease company, trade organisations/publications and government websites.
To provide input and updates to published Fleet policies and procedures as required.
To keep business managers responsible for vehicles updated with policy and vehicle legislation and ensure they are complying with it.
To keep up-to-date with all new vehicles and vehicle technology and related technologies.
To keep Head Procurement Programme management, HR Dept and senior managers up-to-date with reports and issues.
To supervise and control systems in place to ensure continued FORS Bronze accreditation and upgrading as required.
