Job Description

My prestigious automotive client are currently seeking a Part Time Financial Accountant to join the business as soon as possible after the COVID-19 Lockdown. The role is Monday to Friday and 5 hours per day, times to be discussed and agreed. Attracting a salary of £34000-£38000 pro rata dependant on experience

The Role:

To be responsible for the reporting and processing of Sales for allocated Customer accounts and support month end reporting as required

Main Responsibilities

- Provide support in the preparation of the draft Balance Sheet and Profit and loss accounts for the month including analysis against budget, cash flow reports, commentary and summaries for the above directorates in accordance with the monthly timetable and ensure all queries are answered promptly.
- Allocate all costs to correct accounts, cost centres and project costs.
- Reconcile all bank accounts on a weekly basis.
- Create and input to the financial system (SAP) journals and any adjusting entries required to the accounts to agree back to the Financial Statements.
- Review and input monthly all commitments included in accruals and prepayments.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial accounts to be submitted to Head Office.
- To prepare all Balance Sheet reconciliation¡¦s on a monthly basis.
- To support in the control, verification and reconciliation of assets register to the balance sheet.
- To share the responsibility of authorising and input of purchase and overhead invoices.
- Analyse and prepare VAT returns to ensure the correct treatment of Deferred Vat.
- Assist in annual setting of budgets, making allocation alterations during the year as required and maintaining budget reconciliation¡¦s for each directorate.
- Keep updated records of P11d benefits
- Prepare weekly/monthly cash flow forecasts to ensure that funding requirements are met for all currency bank accounts and adequate cash usage is optimised.
- To understand the procedures and processes both internal and external to the department to correctly account for all transactions to comply with audit requirements
- Ensure all legal obligations relating to payroll taxes, deductions, p11d and P35 submissions are met as required by the Inland Revenue.
- Work on own initiative by planning and organising workload in order to meet monthly timetable deadlines.
- Remain flexible and reactive to changing operational requirements.

The Candidate

Essential Qualifications and Experience
- AAT qualified or equivalent and studying towards a professional qualification
- Computer literate on Microsoft Office
- Must have relevant experience in a finance environment
- Finance & Accounting Principles
- Knowledge of Budgets and Financial Ratios
- Experience in SAP Finance modules

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Knowledge of SAP and Finance process
- Knowledge of Budgets and Financial Ratios
