Job Description

We are currently working with a busy 4* hotel located in Birmingham City Centre where a fantastic new opportunity has arose to join their team as Finance Manager.


The main responsibilities of the Finance Manager role include –
  • Producing accurate forecasts
  • Providing assistance to the Cluster DOF in developing the annual business plan, budgets and monthly forecasts
  • Ensuring that the P&L is accurate (i.e. costs are properly matched to revenue and costs are recorded in the proper accounts)
  • Reconciles balance sheet and ensures account balances are current and supported by appropriate documentation in accordance with SOP’s
  • Overseeing internal, external and regulatory audit processes and ensuring compliance with SOP’s
  • Providing support during budget reviews to identify cost saving and productivity opportunities
  • Ensuring appropriate training is provided to all team members and conducting performance appraisals

The ideal Finance Manager will –
  • Have previous hotel accounting experience
  • Have strong numeracy skills
  • Have strong computer skills, particularly Excel and preferably Opera, PeopleSoft, Micros
  • Have knowledge of accounting principles and practices, P&L statements, operating budgets, forecasting and the reporting of financial data

This Finance Manager position is a permanent, full time position and the successful candidate must have flexibility to work weekends/bank holidays for month end. The salary being offered is £26,000 per annum and a laptop is provided.
